DEVILS MARBLES

 Camping at the Devils Marbles, we had a great time, we arrived in the morning and the camp area was already half full, so we set up and spent the afternoon wandering around the rocks, climbing and exploring, had great weather and was surprised it wasnt to cold, had a beautiful fire and had a dingo hanging around the camp and howling at night, magic spot.

 Kids had a ball, they loved climbing all the rocks and in all the caves, couldnt watch Cameron as i thought he was going to run off the edge, he is such a dare devil, Sunset was gorgeous, and sunrise was the same, would have loved to stay longer, but toilets were not good, just saying!!!

LAWN HILL

Had a great couple of days at Lawn Hill & Adels Grove, glad we decided to detour and do the extra 600km round trip, was so worth it, what a wonderful place, picture perfect, who would have thought such a beautiful place could be there, the water was a turquoise green, just spectacular, when an did a few walks around the gorge then we hired some canoes and paddled up the Gorge, had a great day, we then went back to our camp and started the fire and the kids made there own damper for dinner and swam in the river.

in to see the Age of Dino's was a great place to
visit, kids loved the

bones and especially the one that was named WADE which they are working on at the moment, it was a fasinating place purched on top of the mountain. Had a great day. We camped behind the pub for the night, was great.

STOCKMANS HALL OF FAME







Today we went to Stockmans Hall of Fame, all day tour, Museum, show and Lunch.
We had a tour around the Museum, lots of history of Australia huge Museum, then we went out the back and they had a guy doing a show with the dogs rounding up the bullocks from the paddocks and bringing them back and then they pulled the log back from the paddock and showed how the bullocks lifted the log on the wagon. We had lunch in the at the Cattlemans Bar and Grill. Was a very educational day had by all.

LONGREACH

We arrived at Longreach and what a greeting it was with the Qantas planes on one side of the road and Stockmans Hall of Fame on the other, which to go to first, so we dropped the caravan at the park and decided to see the Qantas Founder, we arrived just in time for the tour and then spent the rest of the day looking through the 707 plane and the Museum there was so much to take in but enjoyed the afternoon.

747 was out of action till end of month as the front wheel started sinking in the ground and they have had to make it safe again.  Had a great day.

BARCALDINE




We drove from Blackall to Barcaldine, and stopped for Fuel and morning Tea at the Bakery, Mark had to try out the pies, won the Best pies in QLD at one of the Shows, and the boys gave them a 10 out of 10, then we went and saw the Tree of Knowledge in the centre of town, was very interesting, and the windmill, very small town only one street.

BLACKALL

We arrived at Blackall the home of the Black Stump, so we had a drive around and found a Camp full of the Grey nomads, so we decided to crash the party, kids were excited, Free Camp and showers and Toilets in the main street, that was fun.

THE MACADAMIA NUT

The kids were mucking around while in the car for hours on end and Cameron had Macadamia nut and threw one out the window and Jessica caught it on camera, whats the chances of that, she thought she was very cleaver photographer.

MITCHELL




We stayed at Major Mitchell Caravan Park, the caravan park was on the river, which has lots of Red Claw in season, beautiful sunset, kids were taking photos, and  kids listened to the old man telling stories and whistling with the Eucalyptus leaves, by the Fire, very cold and lots of Road Trains all night.

Highfields Pioneer Village & Chocolate Shop




This is the Pioneer Village what a fantastic place, lots to do and see, very educational for the kids, lots of old machinery, and old houses in a little village, all houses were all set out with original things inside, and we also had Damper made in the camp oven and Billy tea. Great place to visit.....

Beautiful spot for lunch and yummy shops at Highfields.

The Springs Bluff





Spring Bluff Railway Station today is a heritage listed site located on the main railway line between Ipswich and Toowoomba. Its significance stems from 140 years of railway history and the attraction of its beautiful landscaped gardens.
