Traveling home from SA
From Woomera we travelled to Port Augusta, and guess what the clouds rolled in and it started to rain and was very cold, so we stopped for lunch at subways, yummo!! We had a quick look round but it was so cold we decided to keep moving, we arrived at Port Germain, where the longest jetty is but it was late in the arvo and way to cold to walk the 2km jetty so we took the pictures and kept driving to Port Pirie, what a lovely little town, we decided to stay the night and we took Cameron out for dinner to a lovely little Cafe in the main Street, we have a lovely night. The next morning Jess and I made a beeline for the Country Hart Quilt shop before we left, was lovely to meet Robyn and look at her beautiful Quilt shop and buy some lovely goodies. Back on the road and we drove to Broken Hill, was lovely drive through all the little country towns, we arrived at Broken Hill and decided to keep driving and thought we would stop at Willcania, well that was another story, that is one scary town and so was the unoccupied Caravan Park with Grass up to the wheels, so we kept driving by this time it was fairly dark and no town for a long time, so we braved it and pulled into a truck stop in the middle of knowhere and camped with a few other vans and trucks, was a long cold night, but we all got up and on the road again, we drove to Gunnedah, stayed the night then home from there, overall we had a wonderful holiday full of adventures in every way, met some lovely families and did lots of driving, but we were all glad to be back to the beach side place we call home Moonee Beach.
CAMERONS BIRTHDAY IN WOOMERA
17th July 2012 - 18th July 2012
Today we arrived at Woomera, the town of the Space & Rocket launchers. We drove into the town and it was a very clean and tidy place, very well maintained but something was missing, people the only people to be seen were the few tourists lurking around, and information centre, cafe and museum, wow what a waist of a town. We also ran into a lovely family that we camped with at Kings Canyon, and the kid had a great time catching up again. Cameron loved it though all he wanted to do was see where they lauched all the rockets and look at the Museum, an that is what we did for Camerons Birthday, he had a great morning looking at Museums, and we even managed to find his a little cake for morning tea at the cafe.

COOBER PEDY
Driving into Coober Pedy was very different, all we could see was sandhills everywhere and lots of danger signs, we had a bit of an adventure here, the Caravan Park we stayed at was 5km out of town and surrounded by underground houses and mines, and we were the only ones above ground, we had fun, Went to underground mine and Cameron just loved it, could have stayed there for hours on end noodling for Opals, which we have a bucket of rocks we had to bring home. We checked out the town lots of Opals (very expensive to) had coffee at the underground coffee shop in the hotel, had the best Pizza 18" biggest pizza we have seen.
We went to the Breakers just out of town, that was pretty spectacular, and runs in front of the Dog Fence. Had a great time and great place to see but also not a place you could live.
